Leaf leather

Is there anything more in season right now than a bag made from leaves?

Clef Antwerp, unique and sustainable Kimonos

Ok, I've been waiting to write this post for a while. It was still summer and it was way to warm to talk about any form of outerwear, but you know me, I always get excited when it comes to French or Belgian brands!

Those of you who have been reading me for a while may have noticed my love for my air force ones. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever and after years of loyal services, the time to replace them has come.

w.r.yuma, the belgian sustainable sunnies

Today, I'm gonna tell you about one of my favourite finds this summer: the eco-friendly eyewear brand w.r.yuma coming straight from Antwerp. I know, it may not be the sunniest place on Earth
but I really am talking a Belgian brand.

Hopaal: french recycled clothing

When you look at a nice and clean white tee, it's hard to imagine how polluting the textile industry is.  Yet, it's one of the biggest polluters in the world. First, you gotta grow all that cotton that requires insane amounts of water and that we spray with all sorts of pesticides and then turning that cotton into garments, we need more chemicals that end up in our rivers. And don't get me started on synthetic fabrics, energy consumption or all the clothes that end up in landfills!

Bo Carter

Looking for cool ethical and sustainable clothing brands has become a real hobby for me and I gotta say, I've collected a few names already but since I work with a capsule wardrobe, I can't shop from all of them at once. Bo Carter was in my bucket list for a while now and let me tell you, I am very happy with my order.

The Lovely Things

As a bagaholic, I think the hardest thing I had to do when I decided to switch for an ethical wardrobe was to give up on designer bags. Goodbye Chanel bags, goodby LV bags. So yeah, sure it saves me a lot of money and yeah, there are more important things in life but don't we all deserve a little treat every now and then? And that's when Instagram comes into play...

Izzy Lane, cruelty free wool

If you listen to Peta and/or vegans, there is no such thing as ethical wool. I always knew that was false. Well, always... more like since I carpooled with a young man who was carrying wool from his mother's rescue lamas to a small wool mill. Yep, even rescue animals need a little shearing for their well being. That's how the idea of buying yarn from rescue animals as a way to support them started to grow on me. But, three years later, I still don't know how to knit!

Swedish stockings, sustainable hosiery

Even if I try to persist, there's always a time when it is no longer possible to walk around with bare legs under our latitudes. Every year, the same thing happens. I pile up stockings that I will joyfully rip one after another until the next spring. Oh the pantyhose! A pure jewel of the petrochemical industry... My own consumption alone is alarming, but knowing we are millions to buy tights, wear them a few times and then throw them away gives me shivers down my spine. That's the thought that made me want to look for an eco-friendly hosiery brand.

An honest review about LaBante bags

I'm soon reaching month 3 of my fall capsule. Know what that means? I'm finally getting to do some shopping soon! And since I planned on ordering a bag from LaBante, I thought it was the perfect time to give you a little update about my experience with that cool vegan accessories brand.

Vegan bags: LaBante Kensington

Remember the list of vegan bags I made last month? Well, I ordered the first one and I adore it!

I hate the word vegan because of the stereotypes that come with it. Nope, caring about animals doesn't necessarily mean you want to look like you live in a forest yourself. Luckily there are few brands out there that understand it.

Young Designers: Shlomit Ofir

I can't deny I have kind of lost the habit of wearing jewelry the last few years. And yet, I love jewelry and I never get tired of finding out about new designers.

Young French designers: Le Chant du Robot

Today is the 2nd anniversary of my arrival in Belgium and I can say I am now well established out here. Funnily though, my connections with France have never been stronger. Most of my friends here are other french expats for instance and we keep talking about how we miss this and that.
