5 sustainable vegan alternatives to leather and where to shop them

With veganism gaining in popularity over the last few years, the market of vegan accessories has flourished and there are now more brands than I can count. Obviously, I'm very happy about it but I need to get one thing straight. Not all vegan leathers were created equal!

Yep, you read that right. I'm talking about the same cork we use for wine bottles.

So, you wanna go vegan but you don't like veggies?

Sounds like quite an issue considering you can't live on just pasta and bread, doesn't it?

Five good reasons to go vegan that are not the ones you think

Very often (all the time actually), I don't understand why people continue to eat meat knowing it's cruel, unhealthy and terrible for the environment when there are so many plant based options available. Obviously, there's the people who don't give a damn but I dare to hope they're not the majority. And next to them, there's those who think that being vegan is a huge sacrifice. I used to be like that and only did it for the animals but it didn't take long until I change my mind and I'll tell you why.

A capsule wardrobe guide for the lazy girl

Technically, I have two weeks left with my winter capsule but in reality, I think I'm gonna have to make it last at least another week or two. I mean, look at the weather. That leaves me with a bit more time to prepare my spring capsule. Neat!

New in my winter capsule

As promised, here is a post to show you the new additions to my wardrobe for this winter. I guess we can agree there are not many, though when I look at the time I spent searching for ethical brands online, it feels like I've done a shopping marathon. Of course, I found many more pieces that I liked but a) I am limited to 40 pieces, b) they don't necessarily fit my current lifestyle or environment and c) I don't really see a point in building a capsule wardrobe if everything you wear is new each season. However, I bookmarked the brands and I might shop there sporadically in the future.

Now let's move on to my 5 items!

First, I need to talk about my LaBante Piccadilly. Technically, it's not part of my capsule per say, but because LaBante bags have become my favourite bags, I wanted to include it. They're just the best and believe me this is not even sponsored content!

After that, there's my pair of vegan TUK 3-buckle creepers. Saw them on Instagram, wanted them immediately, had to wait until they were finally released. I just find them great as they work as fine with jeans as they do with dresses and they just bring that edgy touch to any outfit without being over the top.

You already know my Izzy Lane Grimsby sweater. What else can I say about it? I just adore it!

And last but not least, I thrifted a pair of vintage black mom jeans and an oversized men's sweater. As great as sustainable fashion is, I believe shopping second hand and using your old clothes is still the best and easiest way to be greener when it comes to your wardrobe.

---

My capsule is ready!

If there's one thing I hate, it's the week before a vacation. In spite of being well organized, I always end up with a ton of errands to run.

5 vegan bags that won't make you look like a sprout eating hippie

The past few weeks, I spent a lot of time exploring the world of vegan brands and I must admit that I was often disappointed by the goods they offered, especially design-wise but luckily there are a few bags out there that have nothing to envy from their leather counterparts. Here is my selection and I confess I'm probably gonna end up buying them all.

---

LaBante - Kensington

Alexandra K - Sophie

Stella McCartney - Falabella box

Gunas - What's knot to love

Flamingos and studs

Attention Vintage lovers! Here is a website you might want to check if you ever visit Brussels and need something to do on a Sunday: Brussels Vintage Market. Ok, ok, it only takes place on the first Sunday of each month but it's really a nice shopping experience. The concept is simple: clothes, music, food and drinks in an original setting.

When you struggle in the morning

The first article of the blog most definitely won't be an outfit post. Considering the "wonderful" weather, no can do! But like I said, I don't want to do only fashion.
